Why did you choose to work at Rutgers Residence Life?

"Although I am currently the assistant director for living-learning communities (LLC) and academic initiatives, I started out as a residence life coordinator on the College Avenue Campus many years ago, supervising graduate hall directors in five residence halls. I immediately felt a sense of family with the other professional staff and truly enjoyed my role overseeing all aspects (resident assistant programming, advising Residence Hall Association, responding to emergencies, etc.) of the communities within my five buildings. As assistant director for living-learning communities and academic initiatives, I have regular exposure to not only the residence life side, but the academic portion as well.  I enjoy the process of building lasting partnerships with faculty and staff, recruiting membership for our LLCs, hiring and training our peer mentors, as well as the opportunity to regularly assess the impact of our programs.  At the end of each day, I am very proud of the work that our office has done for students."
