Livingston Move-In Information

Your move in date is dependent on your residence hall assignment and student status.  Please follow all specified move in and key pick-up directions to ensure you are able to move into your hall assignment upon arrival to campus.  

Please note: 

• Convocation is at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Jersey Mike's Arena.
• There is a HOME FOOTBALL GAME on Thursday, August 28, 2025.  There will be NO scheduled move-ins on this date.
• The Involvement Fair is on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Approved Early Arrivals/Move-In Team Volunteers

Only students who have completed the Early Arrival/Move-In Team Volunteer form and have been confirmed approved are able to move in on Sunday, August 24, 2025 between 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Key pick-up is in the Residence Life Office on your campus where your hall assignment is.

Livingston Apartments

Opened in 2012, Livingston Apartments are one of Rutgers’ newest on-campus living spaces. Three buildings, A, B, and C, make up the apartments. Home to continuing students and single graduate students, the apartments are located at the Plaza at Livingston, home to: Starbucks, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Rutgers Cinema, Kilmer’s Market, kite+key Rutgers Tech Store, Hoja Asian Fusion, Henry’s Diner, 16 Handles, and The Wright Cut. Lynton Towers North

The Lynton Towers (North and South) are traditional residence halls built in 1972. Home to first-year students, both towers are connected with a coffeehouse in the pathway. The North Tower is one of several residence halls to host one of the Rutgers Honors communities. Also across from the Library/Computer Lab, new Livingston Dining Commons, Bus Stop, Livingston Student Center, and the Plaza at Livingston, the Towers are home to the Livingston Residence Life Office, making it easier for students to contact staff if they have any questions or concerns. Lynton Towers South

The Lynton Towers (North and South) are traditional residence halls built in 1972. Home to first-year students, both towers are connected with a coffeehouse in the pathway. Also across from the Library/Computer Lab, new Livingston Dining Commons, Bus Stop, Livingston Student Center, and the Plaza at Livingston, the Towers are home to the Livingston Residence Life Office, making it easier for students to contact staff if they have any questions or concerns. Quad I

Quad I is a traditional residence hall built in 1968. Each Quad has ten houses with a courtyard in the center. It is home to first-years, making it a great way to meet and interact with other first year students. Every house has 4 or more floors. It is also located within walking distance of the Library/Computer Lab, new Livingston Dining Commons, Bus Stop, Gym and the Livingston Student Center. Quad I is also home to an underground main lounge that is connected to every house via tunnels. The Quads are a short walk of the Rutgers Cinema, and other vendors under the Livingston Apartments. Quad II

Quad II is a traditional residence hall built in 1968. Each Quad has ten houses with a courtyard in the center. It is home to first-years, making it a great way to meet and interact with other first-year students. Every house has 4 or more floors. It is within walking distance of the Library/Computer Lab, new Livingston Dining Commons, Bus Stop, Gym, and the Livingston Student Center. It has an underground main lounge that is connected to every house via tunnels and its own community kitchen and study lounge. It is also a short walk to the Rutgers Cinema and other vendors under the Livingston Apartments. Learn more about your residence hall.

Quad III

Quad III is a traditional residence hall built in 1968. Each Quad has ten houses with a courtyard in the center. Home to first-years and upperclassmen. Every house has 4 or more floors. It is also a short walk to the Library/Computer Lab, new Livingston Dining Commons, Bus Stop, Gym and the Livingston Student Center. It has an underground main lounge that is connected to every house via tunnels and has its own coffeehouse where, in the evenings, students can get free coffee or drinks. It is also a short walk to the Rutgers Cinema, and other vendors under the Livingston Apartments. Quad III is also home to the following Discovery House communities: Business and Economics, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Learn more about your residence hall.
