Your move in date is dependent on your residence hall assignment and student status. Please follow all specified move in and key pick-up directions to ensure you are able to move into your hall assignment upon arrival to campus.

- Convocation is at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Jersey Mike's Arena.
- The Involvement Fair is on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Approved Early Arrivals/Move-In Team Volunteers
Only students who have completed the Early Arrival/Move-In Team Volunteer form and have been confirmed approved are able to move in on Sunday, August 24, 2025 between 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Key pick-up is in the Residence Life Office on your campus where your hall assignment is.

Heylar House
Helyar House is a traditional residence hall that provides cooperative living, including a full service kitchen. It was completed in 1968. This building was named after Frank G. Heylar, who was born in New Brunswick on February 6, 1883 and obtained a B.Sc. (University of Vermont, 1905), Hon. Litt.D. (Rutgers University 1948). Helyar’s cooperative living environment is based on earlier programs to help students with affordable on-campus housing. The Helyar House program was originally set up for male students, but became co-ed in 2002. Learn more about your residence hall.

Jameson
Jameson Hall is a traditional residence hall built in 1927. These residences have cherry furniture throughout all the rooms. Jameson is comprised of several buildings surrounding a wide courtyard and is also home to Cabaret Theatre and Jameson Global Village Living-Learning Community. Katzenbach
Katzenbach Hall is a traditional residence hall built in 1963. It was named for Marie Hilson Katzenbach (1882-1970), trustee of Rutgers University (1932-1970). She served on the State Board of Education as a member, vice president, and president. Katzenbach also served on the boards of several educational and social service institutions benefiting disadvantaged children. Lippincott
Lippincott Hall is a traditional residence hall built in 1962. It is named for Miriam Lee Early Lippincott, trustee of Rutgers (1932-1947). She served as a member of the Board of Managers and Trustees Committee of New Jersey College for Women (now Douglass College), and as a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs. Lippincott was a pioneer in the fight-cancer movement in New Jersey. Resulting from her generous donations to Douglass College, the Barbara Lee Lippincott Scholarship was instituted in 1938. Nicholas
Nicholas Hall is a traditional residence hall built in 1960. It was named for Elisabeth Ridgely Nicholas. Nicholas was the daughter of Mary Lawlor and John Stuart Nicholas of New Brunswick. Serving as first Registrar-Bursar of the New Jersey College for Women (1918-1921), Nicholas was one of the pioneers responsible for the development of what became Douglass College. She performed duties as the Dean of Students and was named an Honorary Member of the Douglass Class of 1924. Nicholas Hall is also home to one of the Rutgers Honors communities. Perry Hall is a traditional residence hall built in 1986 and is named for Enos Johnson Perry, an expert in animal husbandry. Perry invented the process used for the artificial insemination of cows. Woodbury Bunting-Cobb
Woodbury Bunting-Cobb Hall is a traditional residence hall built in 1959. It is named for Mary Putnam Woodbury (1846-1914), the woman credited with establishing the first free circulating library in New Jersey in 1883. Her husband was James Neilson (Neilson Dining Hall). Woodbury was active in many New Brunswick charitable organizations and is responsible for starting kindergarten and manual training classes in the city.
