Due to COVID-19, we have removed the residential requirement, and have instead moved our learning communities online.

The Health and Medicine Living-Learning Community is a self-selected group of first-year students who enjoy the benefits of sharing common residential experiences while making new friends, exploring common interests and being a part of a close community of peers.

Students will benefit from special programs, and having residence life staff assistance in transitioning to Rutgers. This community is designed for students who have an interest in pre-medicine, and who aspire to a career in the health professions.

This program focuses on assisting students in their transition from high school to college by sharing common first-year courses such as General Biology and Expository Writing while receiving academic and personal advisement that will help to guide students to be successful during their first year.

After participating in this community as a first-year, students who demonstrate exemplary engagement with the community and their academic endeavors will also have the option to apply to the exclusive Health and Medicine Second-Year Experience to continue in the close-knit supportive environment that the LLC creates. If you are dedicated to making your first year at Rutgers both academically and socially rewarding on the road to medical school, then the Health & Medicine LLC is the perfect place to begin that journey!
