2017 Move-In Schedule

Move-in for the following communities begins at 8 a.m. and will continue until approximately 5 p.m.

  • Sojourner Truth Apartments (College Avenue Apartments) (All residents)
  • Easton Avenue Apartments (All residents)
  • International students (All campuses)

If you are moving into the Sojourner Truth Apartments, please plan to arrive during your floor’s designated check-in time. Students checking into the College Avenue Apartments should report to
Lot 16 off of George Street behind Milledoler and Murray Halls.

8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.  – 2nd floor
9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.  – 3rd floor
11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – 4th floor
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – 5th floor

  • McCormick Suites (SAS Honors Special Interest Community ONLY. The remainder of McCormick residents will move in with continuing and upper class students on September 3)

Students on Busch Campus should go to their area to check in between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Between 2-5 p.m. keys can be picked up from the Busch Campus Office (581 Taylor Road, Piscataway, N.J.). After 5 p.m., students should contact their building’s duty staff for key pick up.

Livingston Campus

  • Livingston Apartments (All residents)
  • Livingston North Tower (First-year students and SAS Honors students ONLY)
  • Livingston Quad III Discovery Houses (first-year Discovery House students in House 33, Business; House 34 Law and Political Science; and House 35 Psychology ONLY)

* If you are a first-year or transfer Douglass Residential College (DRC) student and your residence hall is NOT listed anywhere above, you will still move in on Thursday, August 31, 2017, but must pick up your key at your corresponding campus office:

Busch Campus: 581 Taylor Road, Piscataway, N.J.
College Avenue Campus: 590 George Street, New Brunswick, N.J. (Clothier Hall)
Livingston Campus: 70 Joyce Kilmer Avenue, Piscataway, N.J. (Lynton South Tower)

Due to the Rutgers Football game, there will be no designated move-ins on Friday, September 1.

Please be advised that there may be road closures and/or special traffic patterns in the New Brunswick and Piscataway area. Parking lots (especially on Busch and Livingston Campuses) may be closed and unavailable.

Move-in for the following communities begins at 8 a.m. and will continue until approximately 4 p.m.

  • All remaining continuing and upper-class students who are not a part of a select early arrival community will move in on Sunday-Monday, September 3-4.

Please note: Due to the Rutgers Involvement Fair, College Avenue will be closed between Hamilton Street and Senior Street on Monday, September 4 from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. Continuing students in Demarest Hall, Brett Hall, Clothier Hall, Stonier Hall, Mettler Hall, Hegeman, Leupp, Pell, Wessels, and Tinsley Hall are encouraged to move in on Sunday, September 3 or after 9 p.m. on Monday, September 4. Residents arriving to campus during the College Avenue street closures on Monday, September 4 must unload their vehicles on George Street.

International Students: Students eligible to move in during this time period can pick up their keys from the Livingston Campus Office located in the Lynton South Tower between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2 a.m.

Thursday, August 31
Livingston Apartments (All residents): Check in for Buildings B and C will take place in their respective lobbies. Check in for Building A will be outside of the main entrance.

Livingston North Tower (First-year students and SAS Honors students ONLY): Check in will take place outside of the North Tower in the grassy area by Lucy Stone Circle.

Livingston Quad III Discovery Houses (first-year Discovery House students in House 33, Business; House 34 Law and Political Science; and House 35 Psychology ONLY): Check in will take place in the Quad Circle.

Saturday, September 2
Livingston South Tower (First-year and transfer students ONLY): Check in will take place outside of the South Tower in the grassy area by Lucy Stone Circle.
